The Mediterranean Wetlands Initiative (MedWet)

Established in 1991, the Mediterranean Wetlands Initiative brings together 27 Mediterranean and peri-Mediterranean countries that are Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971). Palestine and a number of organizations and wetland centres are also part of the MedWet Initiative.

Coastal Wetlands of the Black and Azov Seas (BlackSeaWet)

Nordic Baltic Wetlands Initiative (NorBalWet)

NorBalWet initiative is an operational means in the region covered by member countries to provide effective support for improved implementation of the objectives of the Ramsar Convention, thereby contributing to more effective conservation and wise use of wetlands and enhanced international wetlands cooperation in the Nordic-Baltic region. The Nordic-Baltic region covers a wide geographic area and countries.

Carpathian Wetland Initiative (CWI)

The CWI is a regional initiative that facilitates collaboration between the Ramsar Convention and the Framework Convention on Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians (Carpathian Convention)

Danube WILDisland

The Danube WILDisland Ramsar Regional Initiative ultimately aims at the joint preservation and restoration of the Danube near-natural wild islands as the backbone of a unique Danube ecological corridor and indicator of intact river dynamics, preserved riparian ecosystem services, and best practice for cross-sector and cross-border cooperation.
