We are a group of European Regional Initiatives under the Ramsar Convention advocating for wetland conservation, restoration and wise use at the European level.
What we aim for
We seek to strengthen the impact of the Ramsar Convention at the European level, in particular in national, regional and international policies. We offer our support to policy-makers, managers and members of civil society to develop and implement inclusive and resilient wetland-based solutions to the environmental and climate crisis.
Our tools
We will develop a unique partnership based on the capacities, ideas and relationships of each European Ramsar Regional Initiative. This should generate a broader and more differentiated understanding and knowledge of European wetlands in order to achieve our aim.
Support cooperation and capacity-building on wetland-related issues in Europe
We provide a platform for collaboration between governments, technical experts, international NGOs, local communities and private companies.
